Smorgasburg Is Back in Brooklyn
Smorgasburg is back in Brooklyn for the spring and summer seasons. Open on Saturdays in Williamsburg (a few quick stops on the G train from Hoyt-Schermerhorn station) and Sundays in Prospect Park (two stops on the B or Q trains)- Smorgasburg is the largest weekly open-air food market in America. 100 local vendors bring a huge variety of food, offering you a smorgasbord of choices. Smorgasburg is a rain or shine, free event—bring cash & an empty stomach!
We’re all about having dessert before dinner, or dessert as dinner for that matter. Deep fried cookie dough bites from DŌ and Big Mozz sound like a sweet-tooth’s heaven. If cookie dough isn’t your thing, check out Bread & Monkey. The chef is a 14-year old (yes, you read that right) Brooklyn resident who is spending his weekends baking delightful banana bread & chocolate chip loaf that is selling like hotcakes at the market.
The next logical step from desserts are fries, obviously. And we’re not talking about any regular ol’ diner French fries. How does Triple Fat Duck Fries sound? Delicious, and like we’ll need a nap after! Duck Season is bringing their all duck menu to Smorgasburg- from crispy duck legs to duck wings to duck sandwiches (no goose!).
Fresh ingredients from Italy make the crispy cheese and potato pie from Mr. Frico’s a culinary delight – we could probably eat for every meal, tbh. Beef short ribs with bone marrow and roasted cauliflower may not be the kind of dish you would expect to eat at Prospect Park on any given Sunday- but Carnal has made that a possibility!
Now that was only 6/100 possibilities, so a trip to Smorgasburg might have to become a weekly occurrence to taste it all! Living at Hub makes it easy to spend every Sunday at Prospect Park snacking from 11-6! #smorgasburg
