Downtown Brooklyn May Events
Spring is finally here! Enjoy Brooklyn and everything it has to offer in May.
If you haven’t discovered Smorgasburg yet- you’ve been missing out. It’s the largest open-air food market in the US. On Saturdays, you can munch your way around Smorgasburg in Williamsburg at East River State Park. On Sundays, you can taste delicious bites at Breeze Hill in Prospect Park. Check out our blog to find out our must-visit vendors!
After eating your way about Prospect Park, why not take in some drama with the O’Neill classic, “Long Day’s Journey Into Night,” showing at BAM from May 10th to 28th. This is your chance to see legends Jeremy Irons and Lesley Manville in one of the most beloved Pulitzer-Prize winning American plays.
Now that the weather has warmed up—we’re ready to try all of the pretty spring cocktails we can get our hands on! Urban Uncorked is having gin tasting & Indian food party- yum! Gin Lane’s 1751 Victoria Pink will be used in three delicious cocktails (super pretty for Instagram pics) that will go along great with the Indian street food. The event is on May 11th (and free!) and you can get 10% off a bottle of gin.
FAD Spring Market returns to the Great Hall in the Brooklyn Historical Society. With over 40 city-based makers, you can find anything from hand-made soaps to home furnishings, to art pieces. The Historical Center itself has been around since 1863, and is home to 400 years of Brooklyn History (long before Hub was around, but we’ll definitely be in the history books as the best building around).
After your morning out at the markets, head over to brunch at Henry Public, a self-dubbed old-time Brooklyn Saloon. If French toast, an omelet or BLT with a Bloody Henry is your kinda thing- Henry’s is the perfect spot for you.
We know it’s tough to leave your amazing home at Hub, but it’s totally worth it for all of the great experiences (like delicious food and drinks) in your very own neighborhood.
